Drawing Plants is a one day workshop where you will begin to understand the movement involved in drawing. Exploring and observing the marks can we make with the different materials while developing drawing skills and your own style.
The workshop is not about drawing perfect botanical illustrations but grasping their energy, colour, the life in them, their subtle movements and changes of light.
You will learn:
How to represent landscape to individual plants
How to use tone, volume, shadows and composition in landscape
How to advance your artistic skills further with a more detailed approach to plants
How to develop your drawing skills
Meet Gianinna Delpino
Gianinna is a self taught artist. Alongside her practice she studied Architecture in Chile, which arose an awareness for space and it’s relationship with the body and movement. That space has also influenced her visual work which spans through drawing, painting, murals and film, telling stories in scripts, lyrics and painting with light. She has taught beginners of all ages to start drawing, demystifying art and encouraging them to break self imposed limits.
‘There is where drawing comes from, it’s pure movement and present’.
One of Gianinna’s recent projects was to create awareness around plants as living beings and not merely as objects of decoration. This lead Gianinna to illustrate a book about this subject. She believes plants have a lot to teach us about the transitory nature of everything and the remarkable benefits they bring to our minds when we learn to really see them.
