Introduction to Vanilla Masterclass is a 10-hour course spread over two days with expert Tanya Moulding.
The course covers beginner basics and tips on using the luxurious and comforting properties of Vanilla creatively, in culinary and cosmetic recipes. The course will get you started in gaining good basic knowledge of using Vanilla pods and its extracts safely, blending techniques and practical skills.
The workshop is structured to allow adequate time for group and individual work, questions and answers, as well as written notes to take away, with additional suggestions and recipes to tailor at home.
We shall explore the following topics and you will learn how to create two Vanilla based-products to take home, each participant will also take home a vanilla pod to practice with!
Understand its labour- intensive cultivation and history of Vanilla
Discuss the many different types of Vanilla pod, explore and sample the variety of products it produces, such as powder, seeds, extract, essential oil
Explore the properties of Vanilla, its aroma profiles, and its many uses in food, drink, skin and beauty care
How to use, source and handle Vanilla and adapt recipes to suit individual needs
Guidance on Safety, dilutions, storage, creating formulas and record keeping
