For 19 years, Walworth Garden has been successfully running QCF accredited, City & Guilds, Level 2 courses in Work Based Horticulture.
We aim to build students confidence, motivation and self esteem, as well as providing them with the necessary skills to enter the labour market.
Many of our students go on into full-time employment, some making a very successful career in horticulture and others going on to train at a higher level elsewhere.
At the Garden we have different types of free* flexible training on offer, including day and evening classes, all run by our Senior Horticulture Tutor and Botanist Peter Martin.
Throughout your training you will cover:
Gardening skills & information for beginners; with equipment provided
Maintaining plants and gardens
Health and safety techniques
Planting & pruning
CV and interview prep to help find employment
How do I register for the training?
Complete the Entrance Criteria questaionnaire below, once that's done we will send you a confirmation email with a link to our registration form and details of the next start date.
How do I know if my place is funded?
Once you complete our Entrance Criteria Questionnaire we will be able to confirm whether you are eligible for funding.
Do I have to pay anything if my place is funded?
We require students to pay a registration and certification fee for the training. Each fee is slightly different dependent on the level of training you wish to take part in.
How do I pay?
Once you have completed our Entrance Criteria questionnaire and completed the registration form you will be invited to the Garden for your induction where payment will be explained.
What are the start dates?
Start dates for the training you selected in the questionnaire will be emailed to you along with your registration form.
