Without volunteers, Walworth Garden wouldn't be what it is today. We want to give you the opportunity to give back, grow and and form long-lasting relationships with our community and the environment. Whilst we are a small organisation, there is an opportunity for everyone to get involved and keep the garden thriving.

The volunteer roles we are currently seeking are:

  • A volunteer coordinator (Garden) - We need someone to take the lead with our volunteers in the garden, helping with recruitment, inductions and day to day support of our volunteers - to apply email george@walworthgarden.org.uk with Volunteer Coordinator in the subject line.

  • Garden volunteers - Interested in gardening and keen to work outdoors? We might just be the place for you.  We are looking for green fingered volunteers on weekdays to support our team and students keep the garden looking it's best all year round, taking care of our unusual collection of plants, assisting visitors and working with the Garden Manager - to apply email george@walworthgarden.org.uk with Garden Volunteer in the subject line.

We are offering the unique opportunity for 2-3 dedicated individuals to work in our School of Horticulture assisting our tutors with the teaching, planning and administration of our Level 2 Work-based horticulture courses. You will need to be able to dedicate Monday and Thursday evenings, or half a day Tuesday or Wednesday, an interest in gardening is always a bonus - to find out more and apply email george@walworthgarden.org.ukwith Teaching Assistant in the subject.

  • Behind the Scenes Volunteers - Whilst most of our visitors see the garden when they visit, there is a small army working behind the scenes on everything from fundraising, to administration, marketing and much more. We are always seeking bright, organised and passionate individuals who want to give back to the community and help us achieve our charitable aims. If you are interested in volunteering behind the scenes email george@walworthgarden.org.uk with Behind the Scenes Volunteer in the subject.

If you would like to learn how to garden, or gain a gardening qualification, we offer some free places on both our Introduction to Gardening workshop, and our QCF accredited Level 2 in Work Based Horticulture courses.
