We can make sure your garden is a contribution to the environment, rather than a drain on its resources
With decades of experience installing and growing gardens for humans and wildlife across London’s microclimate, our Environmental Landscaping Services Team are ready to take on the challenges of any urban space
We’ve developed progressive methods of installation, including concrete-free patios and ponds built for wildlife, so you can be sure that your space is reinvigorated using the most sustainable methods possible, and supporting environmental efforts for South London and the planet, without sacrificing usability. We’re also well-versed in long-term planting needs for the extremities of weather, including swings between droughts and heavy rainfall. Moving away from the typical, traditional choices, we plant with the future in mind, so our gardens continue serving us through unprecedented climate changes. Our team matches an unrivalled understanding of the particular challenges of growing in small, shady, and often overlooked gardens (and even indoor spaces!), with a tireless dedication to biodiversity, permeability, and wildlife.
In collaborating with us, you’ll also be supporting our training programmes for young people. Teaching and training locals facing barriers to employment is embedded into our charitable work, and our Environmental Landscaping Services Team, upskilling Trainee Gardeners, is no different.
All surpluses from this work will be reinvested in our charity, making our work a sustainable choice in all definitions - in support of a radical business model that puts people and the planet first.
Why request a consultation?
We’re here to support your goals. An initial consultation will focus on asking a few key questions, from which we can understand your priorities - how you want to use your space, and what it should feel like. From here, we will make suggestions on the most sustainable choices to make sure your garden serves you, and the environment - and leave the choice to you.
Why ‘permeability’?
Traditional, concrete patios, much like roads, are impermeable - a solid construction built only for cars and humans, not allowing rainwater to drain as it should, back into the ground. Aside from the pollution concrete itself creates, these patios attempt to divert rainwater to struggling municipal drainage systems, increasing flood risks in homes and communities - which are further escalated by climate changes. The lack of permeability and breathability also contributes to biodiversity loss and interrupts the soil food web.
But we know that patios can be made permeable, to negate the impacts of climate change and support biodiversity growth using concrete-free techniques and even recycled materials. We also believe in permeability for wildlife - ensuring all installations, even fencing, can welcome insects including all-important pollinators, as well as other wildlife such as bird species and hedgehogs.
