Handmade Paper and Card Making

  • Walworth Garden 206 Manor Place London, England, SE17 3BN United Kingdom (map)

Workshop: Handmade Paper and Card Making

This creative workshop is an opportunity to discover the joys of flower pressing, particularly in winter, and learn ways to recycle old papers into unique, textured cardstock before adding pressed flowers and creating handmade cards - just in time for Christmas.

We will explore a short history of paper and plants traditionally used in the processes of paper making, and the different ancient techniques used, before an opportunity to get hands on with the paper frame technique.

After our paper is made & setting, we will explore the garden and learn about foraging and foraging etiquette, and discover what kind of flowers make for perfect pressings.

We’ll then discuss placement and layout and spend some time creating cards with our handmade paper and pressed flowers.

This workshop is for anyone who would like to explore the joys of flowers & card making, or looking for a de-stressing hobby. It’s also great for anyone with mobility issues who cannot garden but would like to create with nature.
