Workshop: Intro to Herbal Medicine

This practical and discussion-based workshop with Medical Herbalist Cherrelle Douglas, explores the history of herbal medicine and its roots from various global traditions. We will look at the different types of herbal practice and the meaning of taking an holistic approach to healthcare.

This is a relaxed and welcoming session open to all; whether you are completely new to plant medicine, or would like to deepen your connection. Participants will be encouraged to share their knowledge and experience.

We’ll look at a range of kitchen and wild growing herbs for common ailments in line with the season, learn about different preparation methods; covering key plant remedies you can make at home, do one or more in-depth herb study including a tea tasting, and a herb walk to identify some medicinal plants growing in the garden and local neighbourhood.

You will leave this session with a herbal remedy to take home, and the knowledge and skills to continue experimenting.
